Check Circuit Breaker
Check your breaker panel for a tripped or off circuit breaker. Sometimes during storms or when power surges occur the breaker can get tripped. It may just need a reset. If the breaker trips immediately you may have a more serious issue.
Check Float Switch
Check your float switch for water. Located by the drain line connected to the air handler. If you have water in your float switch you can attempt to clear the drain line with a WET-VAC. Be sure to refill the drain line outside until it is full and remove excess water from float switch after you have removed the clog. In most cases it is required to remove the front cover of the air handler and clean out the drain pan.
Check Thermostat Batteries
Be sure to check the batteries in your thermostat. Not all thermostats require batteries if your thermostat was working before without batteries its most likely your float switch or another power issue. If your thermostat uses batteries try replacing them.
Check Your Filter
Check to make sure your air filter is not dirty. A dirty air filter can restrict the air flow of your HVAC system and cause the system to freeze up. If the system runs too long like this it can cause irreversible permanent damage leading to expensive repairs. Be sure to select the appropriate filter for your system. A "Cheap" filter can be almost the same as no filter and a "Good" filter may restrict your airflow and cause issues.
