SS1Float Switch

Float switches play a crucial role in your HVAC system, If you don't have one your at risk. Your HVAC system removes water from the air inside your home through the drain line. When the water cant flow out the drain the float switch activates, signaling the system to turn off to prevent overflow and potential water damage. A SS1 float switch is your fist line of defense and offers a cleanout port to blow out drain line and add drain treatment to the drain line.

SS2 Float Switch

A SS2 Float switch offers better protection than an SS1 float switch due to it being installed in the secondary drain port of your HVAC system. In the event that your drain line is clogged before the SS1 float switch or the SS1 float switch fails, The SS2 switch will trip. The SS2 switch is more reliable due to the fact that water is not constantly in contact with it. Water should not be in the SS2 port if there is you have a problem!

SS3 Float Switch

The SS3 float switch is mounted to a emergency drain pan. The emergency drain pan is located underneath the air handler. In the event that your SS1 and SS2 float switch fails, The emergency drain pan will catch the water and eventually trip the SS3 float switch. The SS3 float switch will only trip if the pan is properly pitched and the switch properly placed.

Wet Switch

The wet switch is the most sensitive flood protection devices to equip your HVAC system with. The bottom of this device is a sponge like material with just a Tspn amount of moisture it will trip. To reset this device you will need to dry it out with a hair dryer, and press the reset button.

Emergency Drain Pan

The purpose of an emergency drain pan is to catch any water that may leak out of your HVAC system in the event that all your float switches fail. Emergency drain pans are most commonly installed on attic systems. However we recommend all systems have a pan installed underneath for safety purposes. If you have water in your emergency drain pan you have a problem.
